Who we are
Kaloma is the founder of the project. Her visionary and highly demanding style is having a major impact on the project. On site, she is assisted by a small team of collaborators as well as 4 Dominican sisters who are based in Dwalé and help with the management of the school, the agricultural project and the health center.
Numerous donors and foundations in Belgium and Switzerland provide financial support for the development of the project. Many thanks to them!
Our projects
Before the ACADEC project was launched, the villagers were living in extreme poverty, with children dying of starvation. To restore dignity to the villagers, the project integrates several dimensions: agriculture for income and food, education, health and reforestation.
Our mission
Our aim is to empower a local population made vulnerable by extreme poverty. They are given opportunities to take their future into their own hands and become actors rather than spectators in their lives. Our aim is to restore dignity to the villagers by enabling them to earn a living and give their children an education.
Kaloma makes sure that everyone has a chance. She encourages effort, is very demanding and doesn't tolerate anyone trying to take advantage of the system.

The project of Kaloma is committed to providing housing, jobs and education for people in need. As well as responding to immediate needs, Kaloma and her team believe in the importance of giving people the tools they need to rebuild their lives, by promoting independence and self-reliance.
During my stay in this community, I was deeply touched by their positivity despite the difficulties they are going through. This project shows that helping others is contagious: I met a refugee who, after receiving help, took several orphans under his wing in turn, thus continuing the chain of solidarity.
