The ACADEC project

More than 2,000 men, women and children in Congo regain their dignity thanks to the ACADEC project integrating education, health and agriculture.

Our projects

Agriculture

1,100 hectares enable hundreds of villagers to lift themselves out of poverty, cultivate their land and sell and eat their harvest.

Education

An elementary school welcomes around 100 children. A secondary school has been built and a pre-elementary school has been added.

Health

A health center has been built to provide first aid to the villagers.

Access to Water

Villagers who used to travel several kilometers to fetch water now have drinking water in the village of Dwale.

Fighting malnutrition

Thanks to the nutrition center, the children of Dwalé and Mutiene are no longer starving and receive one meal a day.

Reforestation

Thanks to the reforestation program, the villages of Mutiene and Dwale are once again forested!

About us

The Association Congolaise d'Appui au Développement Communautaire ( ACADEC) was founded in 2009 on the Bateke plateau (120km from Kinshasa) by Kaloma Bamiriyo. She is a Belgian of Congolese origin who, after a long career as a nurse in Belgium, returned to the Congo with a dream and an iron will to help a population living in extreme poverty.

The organization is active in the fields of agriculture and the environment, health and education.

Management of the Forest

With the help of a Belgian reforestation foundation, the program is continuing, with particular emphasis on creating firebreaks to protect the newly planted forest from the spread of forest fires. These fires are particularly frequent between July and September.
